Modern theoretical physics rests on macroscale Einstein/Newton continuum mechanics in 3D, but on microscale quantum mechanics of a fundamentally different form — a probability wave on 3N-dimensional configuration space. The two are incompatible or contradictory: there is no unified theory, which is behind the crisis of modern physics. Einstein struggled until his death to find one but did not succeed.
